New Year ~ New Kitchen ~ New You

12.16.2019

With a new year quickly approaching, many people will think about how to make 2017 better than 2016. The thoughts of New Year’s Resolutions and how to be a “better you” are bound to pop up at least a few times as they tend to do at the start of a new year.

Think back to all the things you resolved to “do better”…how successful were those New Year’s Resolutions over the years?  Did you know that nearly half of the people in the United States make resolutions and of those that make resolutions, over one-third of those resolutions do not last past January and more than three-quarters of all resolutions are abandoned before March.

Let’s take a look at some of the top New Year’s resolutions.

  1. Lose Weight
  2. Getting Organized
  3. Spend Less, Save More
  4. Enjoy Life to the Fullest
  5. Staying Fit and Healthy
  6. Learn Something New & Exciting
  7. Quit Smoking
  8. Help Others
  9. Fall in Love
  10. Spend More Time with Family

Do you wonder why New Year’s resolutions seemingly don’t work? First, let’s examine the purpose. New Year’s resolutions are a promise a person makes for the New Year. Regardless of the resolution(s) one chooses to commit to, the general goal is always to improve your life in the coming year. People choose resolutions such as quitting bad habits, eating healthy, exercising, starting new hobbies, starting/finishing projects and more.

So why don’t resolutions stick? There are many reasons, most involving lack of motivation and/or commitment and that is a huge primary contribution to the fact that most resolutions are based “what you think” or “feelings” rather than what you really want to be doing. In addition, most resolutions are goals we set to achieve instead of resolving to take the steps necessary to reach those goals. Eventually, the goal itself becomes overwhelming and is abandoned when it starts to feel impossible to obtain. Our “feelings” and “thoughts” have decided our resolution and ultimately has failed our resolution.

As you see above, the most common resolutions made every year in the US revolve around being fit and healthy. This includes dieting, eating healthy, losing weight and exercising. Those same resolutions are also the most commonly repeated resolutions. Theoretically, these resolutions are most commonly failed resolutions, causing people to “try the same thing next year”

So you may ask yourself “what does this have to do with a custom stainless steel manufacturing company?” The answer is simple! We would love to help you meet a New Year’s resolution that sets you up for success in reaching the ultimate goal of achieving happiness and a better life in 2017!

Let’s think outside the box for a moment. What if a new stainless steel kitchen remodel could ultimately help you reach your resolution of healthy, happy living in the coming New Year? Eating fast food and processed food is the #1 unhealthy eating habit in the United States. So why do we find ourselves eating out so often instead of preparing a fresh home cooked meal? Many will say they don’t have the time to cook (we will come back to this statement). Others with say they don’t like being stuck in the kitchen. Others will say they just don’t like to cook.

Let’s imagine that you have a beautiful, newly remodeled kitchen. A kitchen custom-built to meet your needs and wants that still fits into your existing space. Would that be a room that you didn’t mind spending time in or one that you actually want and enjoy spending time in? Absolutely, it would! A kitchen that is beautiful and functional means that you are more likely to cook a healthier, fresher meal, rather than resorting to quick and/or processed meals. This means you are one step closer to achieving that New Year’s resolution of a healthier life! With that being said your brand new kitchen now meets your wants and needs, looks great and is stylish! Now we are eating healthier and that is proven to make us feel better, so you are now one step closer to that resolution of a happier life!

Now back to that time factor. With a fresh new look in your kitchen, you will not only WANT to give the kitchen more of the time you have, but you will SAVE time in the kitchen that has now been designed to meet your specific needs. With your design and our expertise, everything can now be easily and quickly accessible to you, as you cook. Those “time-saving” factors combined with the fact that you will love your new kitchen may even be enough motivation for you to wake up a few minutes earlier to prepare a meal to cook after work or even just throw a meal in a slow cooker to be ready to serve by dinner time.

So this year, don’t set an unrealistic or overwhelming goal. Don’t choose a New Year’s resolution without a plan to make it successful. Choose SFI, choose a new, custom stainless steel kitchen to help you stay on track of achieving your 2017 New Year’s resolution for a happy, healthier life.
